Minister-President of Bavaria Seehofer Visits China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Horst Seehofer, Chairman of the Christian Social Union (CSU) and Minister-President of Bavaria, headed a delegation consisiting of 60 members from Bavarian government, business and media to Beijing and Qingdao from 24 to 30 April 2010. In Beijing, Mr. Zhang Dejiang, Vice Premier of the State Council, Mr. Yang Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Guo Jinlong, Mayor of Beijing, and Mr. Tian Lipu, Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office, met with Mr. Seehofer. In Qingdao, Mr. Seehofer addressed the opening ceremony of “2010 China (Qingdao) International Forum on New Energy and Sino-German Cooperation Summit”. Mr. Jiang Yikang, Secretary of the Shandong CPC Provincial Committee, and Mr. Jiang Daming, Governor of Shandong, met with Mr. Seehofer and his delegation. The two sides exchanged views on Sino-German relationship and Sino-Bavarian cooperation in the fields of economy, technology and education. Mr. Seehofer was conferred honorary professor at Qingdao University.
