At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, HRH Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, visited Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin as Special Representative of International Trade and Investment of the United Kingdom from 2 to 11 September 2010. Mr. Wang Qishan, Vice Premier of the State Council, met with the Duke of York on 9 September. Prince Andrew also met withMr. Zhang Gaoli, Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, Mr. Huang Xingguo, Mayor of Tianjin, Mme. Fu Ying, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs,Mr. Fu Chengyu, President ofChina National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) , and Mr. Gao Xiqing, Vice Chairman and President of China Investment Corporation (CIC). The two sides exchanged views on China-UK cooperation in trade and investment. Prince Andrew attended the National Pavilion Day of UK at Shanghai World Expo and spoke on “China & UK: International Trade Partners for Growth” at Nankai University, Tianjin.
