Belgium Flemish Parliamentarians visit China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), a delegation of Flemish Parliamentarians of Belgium visited China from 4 to 12 September. Mr. Nan Zhenzhong, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), met with the delegation on 10 September in Beijing.
Mr. Nan Zhenzhong said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Belgium had enjoyed sound cooperation in the economic, science and technology, cultural, education and financial services fields. The two sides had great potentials in tourism cooperation which could bring tremendous benefit to the two peoples.
Mr. Ludwig Caluwe, President of the Chrisitian Democratic Party (CD&V) group in the Flemish Parliament, spoke highly of China’s rapid economic development which not only benefited the Chinese people but also contributed to world economic growth. Belgium welcomed Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Belgium and would facilitate Chinese tourists travelling in Belgium, he said.
Members of the delegation also visited Shanghai EXPO.
