At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), Mr. Miguel Angel Martinez, Vice President of the European Parliament, visited Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai from October 12 to 17. In Beijing, Mr. Li Jinjun, Vice Minister in charge of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC，Ambassador Zha Peixin, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the NPC, Ambassador Cheng Tao, Vice President of CPIFA, and Mr. Li Ruiyu, Director General of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Martinez. The two sides exchanged views on China-Europe relations and the perspects for European integration. In Hangzhou, Mr. Zhao Hongzhu, Secretary of the CPC Zhengjiang Provincial Committee, met with Mr. Martinez, who also visited Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
