At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), Mr. Stjepan Mesi?, former President of Croatia, visited Beijing, Hainan, Shenzhen and Yangzhou from 14 to 20 April 2011. In Beijing, Mr. Mesi? gave a lecture at CPIFA on “Causes for the disintegration of Yugoslavia and importance of cooperation in South-east Europe”. The lecture was chaired by Ambassador Cheng Tao, Vice President of CPIFA. In Hainan, Mr. Mesi? attended the opening ceremony of Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2011 and delivered a keynote speech at the “World Economy 2011” Luncheon Session. He visited the headquaters of Huawei in Shenzhen. and attended the opening ceremonies of Marco Polo Memorial Museum and Flowery March International Economy, Trade and Tourism Festival in Yangzhou, where he was met by Ms. Wang Yanwen, Secretary of CPC Yangzhou Municipal Committee, and Mr. Xie Zhengyi, Mayor of Yangzhou.
