The 18th African Senior Diplomats Delegation (English) Visits China

       At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the 18th African Senior Diplomats Delegation, comprised of 24 members from 21 African countries, the African Union, ECOWAS and COMESA, visited Beijing, Jiangxi and Shenzhen from Sep. 14 to 24, 2015.

       In Beijing, Vice Minister Hong Tianyun of the State Council Poverty Alleviation Office, Assistant Foreign Minister Qian Hongshan and Director General Zhong Manying of Department of Western Asian and African Affairs of MOFCOM met with or held dinner for the Delegation respectively. Vice President Peng Keyu met with and held a welcome dinner for the Delegation on behalf of CPIFA. Director General Lin Songtian of Department of African Affairs of MFA held a roundtable discussion with the delegation on China-Africa relation. Besides, the Delegation visited some Chinese corporations and financial institutions with major projects in Africa, such as China-Africa Development Fund, Synohydro Corporation, China Road and Bridge Corporation.

      In Jiangxi, the Delegation met with Ms. Xie Ru, Vice Governor of Jiangxi Province, and visited Jingdezhen city, Wuyuan County and Poyang County.
In Shenzhen, the Delegation met with Mr. Zhu Tingfeng, Deputy Secretary General of Shenzhen Municipal Government, visited Shenzhen Museum, Huawei corporation and Hytera Communications Corporation.
       Deeply impressed by the social and economic progress achieved by China, Delegation members expressed their high expectation for the future of Sino-Africa cooperation.
