On May 6, 2023, President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan sent a congratulatory message to King of the UK Charles III and Queen Camilla.

In their congratulatory message, Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan noted that the world today is undergoing profound and complex changes, and the international community is faced with many unprecedented challenges. China and the UK, both permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, should take a long-term and strategic view to jointly promote the historical trend of peace, development and win-win cooperation.
