CPIFA President Wang Chao Attends the 2025 HEHE Civilization Forum

On June 10, President Wang Chao of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs(CPIFA), delivered remarks at the opening ceremony of the 2025 HEHE Civilization Forum held in Bangkok, Thailand at the invitation of the International Confucian Association and the Thai-Chinese Cultural & Relationship Council.
H.E. Sun Chunlan, President of the International Confucian Association, H.E. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Thailand, Romano Prodi, former Prime Minister of Italy and former President of the European Commission, Wissanu Krea-Ngam, former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Firmin Edouard Matoko, former Assistant Director-General of UNESCO and Han Zhiqiang, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, addressed the opening ceremony. Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister of Japan and Chairman of the International Confucian Association delivered a written speech. Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Cultural & Relstionship Council Phinij Jarusombat presided over the opening ceremony.
Wang Chao said, it was a great pleasure to attend the Forum on the First International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations of the United Nations. In the face of the global impact?from?transformations unseen in a century, “harmony” is the correct way for different civilizations to get along, “cooperation” is the way for all countries in the world to develop and progress together, and HEHE, literally, "harmony" and "cooperation" are in line with the trend of the times and reflect the common aspirations of the people of the world. Since 2013, President Xi Jinping has put forward initiatives such as building a community with a shared future for mankind, jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. These initiatives contributed Chinese wisdom and solutions to tackle common challenges facing mankind. CPIFA is willing to work with relevant institutions in various countries to actively implement the above initiatives to facilitate mutual understanding and exchanges among civilizations and jointly build a community with a shared future.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand and the close as a family friendship is time-honoured and everlasting. China is ready to work with Thailand to inherit and renew the traditional friendship, and strive to build a China-Thailand community with a shared future, so as to better benefit the two countries and their peoples, as well as the region and the world.
More than 500 Chinese and foreign guests from 13 countries and regions attended the forum themed “Harmony and Coexistence: Promoting the Prosperity and Progress of Civilizations”. The forum also featured four parallel sub-forums, namely, “Civilizational Dialogue and Global Development”, “Scientific and Technological Innovation and People-to-People Exchanges”, “Youth and Global Sustainable Development” and “Cultural Inheritance and Economic Development”.
