CPIFA Vice President Zou Xiaoli Delivers a Speech at the Symposium on China-Canada Relations
On June 17, Ambassador Zou Xiaoli, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) delivered a speech at the Symposium on China-Canada Relations under the theme “Advancing China-Canada Relations for the Benefit of the Two Peoples” hosted by the Embassy of China in Canada.
Amb. Zou Xiaoli says that China-Canada relations have shown a positive momentum. Premier Li Qiang and Prime Minister Mark Carney in their recent phone call expressed the goodwill to improve and develop the bilateral relations. Premier Li Qiang emphasized that the governments of the two countries should listen to and respond to the wishes of their people, and do more that is conducive to the friendship and cooperation, mutual understanding and mutual trust between the two countries. Prime Minister Carney noted that Canada and China share a deep traditional friendship. These statements are a high recognition of the long-standing efforts and contributions made by the organizations and individuals committed to this relationship in both countries.
Amb. Zou Xiaoli speaks highly of the China-CanadaTrackTwo Dialogue mechanism and reiterates that we need to view China-Canada relationship from a strategic and long-term perspective, work together to make the pie of cooperation bigger, resolutely oppose unilateralism, protectionism and all forms of bullying, provide stability and positive energy to the volatile and turbulent world.
